Financial Advisor, Financial Services Representative
Charlie is a financial advisor with the Marathon Financial Group, based in Boston, MA. He and his team (see below) specialize in helping busy, successful, and established professionals organize their financial lives and take the stress out of planning.
In the earlier years of his practice, Charlie focused almost exclusively on serving the needs of Boston area physicians and their families. While this vocation remains a focus, the practice has since grown significantly to serve other professionals and business owners all over the United States.
Charlie started his practice over a decade ago with the simple mission of being ‘great, rather than big’. His passion lies in building strong long term relationships and developing sophisticated strategies that solve more complex financial issues. Thus, Charlie now limits new clients to only 10 new families per year, and these folks generally must be mid- to late-career.
Charlie has a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and holds his FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 65, and SIE licenses.
He lives in Boston’s South End with his husband, Mason. When not at the office, Charlie and Mason can be found on their patio with a book or garden spade in hand.
Cooper Grady, CFP®
Director of Financial Planning
Cooper works directly with clients to develop and implement holistic financial strategies, uniquely crafted towards achieving each individual’s specific objectives. Prior to joining the Marathon Financial Group, Cooper served as the Director of Financial Planning for a nationwide RIA, where he was the architect of a proprietary financial planning process to service the firm’s 600+ clients, centered around an interactive approach and values-driven solutions.
Cooper’s passion lies in helping clients clearly identify and realize their vision and then aligning them with a customized roadmap to achieve financial success and clarity.
Cooper and Charlie work in concert to ensure that the rationale for recommendations developed during the financial process are clear to their clients, and then provide direct guidance when it comes time to implement these items and put the plan to work.
In addition to his BA in Finance from Eastern Illinois University and his CFP® designation, Cooper also holds the ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), and BFA™ (Behavioral Financial Advisor) designations.
Cooper lives in Charleston, SC with his fiancée, Bethanie. When he is not working, Cooper and Bethanie can be found traveling, boating, or enjoying the outdoors with friends.
